Different Shades Of Scarlet

What a wild day I’ve had. Well, at least so to me. It was very… active.

Not that I used to be an active person before my health got to this state—but I was out the house a lot more often.

For emphasis, let’s look at something, hmm?

The vehicle I drive is older than my cat. And my cat is 20. Years back, maybe 14 or so ago—geeze, I’m getting old… Anyhow, I used to drive 62 miles or so roundtrip five days a week to get to college, then hurry back home. Cook dinner for granddad and myself, then run to work.

I had late shifts. Then I’d get up in the morning and do it all over again. Made us breakfast, packed him and I lunch and out the door I was scurrying. I had to fill up from half twice a week. Usually on Wednesday and then again on Friday.

Even after I finished (stopped going to) college, I still had to fuel up once a week. Running to and from work. Running to and from my friend’s house. Sometimes running from work to help out my family. That might cause a twice a week fill.

Now?

I put gas in the car in November…

It is now almost January, and I’m using the same tankful of gas.

I still drive. Just not far.

Today was a far drive for me. So I felt like a post toasties once I got home.

For the second time.

Was out earlier, and my body hurt so much after I got home. Then had to head out again. The first time, I was bouncing with energy. This time, I think my brain was taking mini-naps on the way home. It was… unsettling.

I’m reviewing C&R II, chapters 4-5 and C&R III, chapter 1. I might have been purring a bit.

I’m just a sucker for sappy stories… and I re-read my stuff like a kid in a candy shop.
