Is it too much to ask for a tiny bit of recognition from my family… or anyone really?
I’m having to deal with the fact that I get no engagement on my fanfiction for the most part… and try to motivate myself to keep going, despite the silence. The silence is pretty painful.
But…
I have stories in my head that want to get out. I want to see how the stories go… where they land. I’m so curious.
I start off with a tiny fragment of an idea… and it goes from there.
For instance…
Navigating the Curve was originally supposed to be a story involving Hercules and Jennifer Walters. I was writing it on an Alphasmart, but got irritated because of how hard it was to transfer to my laptop.
I destroyed the story.
Considering it was quite salacious, it’s a good thing it’s gone.
But… I held onto the title.
Then, I got mad because I couldn’t find any decent Peter Parker/Jennifer Walter fanfic—minus what’s on an adults only website.
So… I decided to write my own. Somehow, I’ve made it to chapter 30 with over 300,000 words. I’m repairing chapters one at a time, going at an OKAY clip.
Attention… At my age, should I even care anymore?
When I first wrote for NtC, I was focused more on myself.
I wanna go back to that.
I’ll do some additional research… Maybe re-read it?
I have ideas for other stories too.
… Of course, they involve Ororo Munroe…
