One of the best (I think) was a ball of twine.
I’m serious.
We had a major ice over back in February… and I was trapped in the house for 3 weeks. Ice in the front of the house and ice in the back of the house.
So, I used the twine, cut six 10-foot long lengths and twisted them up into two ropes. I then tied them to a storage tote and pushed it out the front door. It slid on the ice up to the front gate, and I was able to get deliveries that way.
My neighbor thought it was the most hilarious thing she’d ever seen.

But it worked. Which was the most important. I nearly ran out of cat food.
Bought that twine years ago.
