Daily writing prompt
What’s one habit that has improved your life the most?

I gotta admit… I had to think hard on this. And I’m probably not getting it right still.

Or getting all of them.

So, I have this whole thing of “Pay Before Play” that I’ve tried to attach myself to.

Pay your bills.

Play with what might be left.

Although right now, I’m struggling.

  • On top of needing a fresh car repair (Achieved, btw!)
  • Now I’m getting asked about some residential thing I had set up.
  • I have someone coming to cut my grass soon, so that’ll be another bill.
  • I have 5 cats that are all up for shot renewal.

Hate to say it, but some days I wish I had no cats at all. At least then, it would be quiet. And I would save a lot more money.

Cat food and cat litter are expensive. If I limit them to breakfast (for the food) and dinner though, I can make it stretch a bit better. Cat litter on the other hand is non-negotiable.

I’ve been told the cats need flea meds each month.

So, let’s review what hasn’t been done yet that needs to be done:

  • The cats all need shots (all 5 of them). I have only 2 cages, so it’ll be a lot of trips. Unless I can squeeze a third cat in the big cage.
  • The cats have not had flea meds. That stuff comes out to over $70/month.
  • I have not discussed the residential pest thing again.

I cannot ask my dad for help every month. I still feel terrible that he helped me with cat food and litter last month.

What I do know is this:

  • I have flea meds in my house. I just need to find all of them. If I can find 2 months’ worth, that’ll give me a bit of a window to get fresh additional flea meds for ‘em.
  • I get to be on the phone making calls for help with litter and cat food.

What I have learned:

  • Oh my, I save so much money by cooking! My neighbor and I went and got free groceries on Thursday.

Methinks I’ll be tapping some of that money that was saved up for the car. XD

At least for the cats. And the grass cut.

I will probably be working in my notebook tomorrow.

Because I’m learning that sleep is important and trying to get some more than a tiny amount.

I guess the overarching lesson is to get familiar with what you do and do not have financially.

Oh! And the AAA is due soon. -_-
