You Have Textbook Anatomy

Daily writing prompt
What was the best compliment you’ve received?

This counts as the nicest and strangest compliment I’ve ever received. I’ve been complimented about my cooking, my baking and singing, artwork, my writing, along with looking younger than my age… and even for still having my teeth, but this one stands out by being one of the most shocking comments I’ve received.

I got it back in 2024… while having a catheter inserted. 😳

Apparently, everything down there matched the textbook diagrams.

Odd? Yes.

It was a male nurse who came to help the female nurse, because she found inserting a catheter into a woman to be very difficult. She said it was easier with men.

And the male nurse told me that I had textbook anatomy and that made everything so much easier.

My response? “Er… thank… you?”

  1. When someone says that I look younger than I what I tell them, it bothers me. I don’t want to be judged by my looks.

    1. My view is a bit different. I had to endure years of one particular family member telling me how unattractive I was. It put me in a bad mood, and I put on a lot of weight due to stress eating. It took a lot of years and kind friends to help me understand that I wasn’t an ugly person.

What’s interesting about being mean though… is that a person’s behavior can make them the ugliest of all. Ugly on the inside.
