There have been two of them.
For Food…
Years back, while I was still getting my feet wet with cooking, I made mac n cheese. I remember my grandmother always running me out of the kitchen. I would hover at the door and hope she let me get a cube of cheese from the block she cut up.
While hanging around like a hungry gargoyle, I also watched how she would make the mac n cheese.
So… I got the ingredients together a few years after she died and tried to replicate the recipe. My grandma didn’t do anything too fancy with it. She never put it in the oven, which is how I’m used to it. Baked is nice, but… It’s still foreign to me.
My mom was over the house that day, and I gave her some.
She ate a bit… looked me in the eyes and teared up.
And said: “This tastes just like momma’s!”
That remains one of my best memories. My mom and I had many problems over the years, but I know that she really loved me. She was just so sick, both physically and mentally… and her illnesses followed her until her body finally gave up at the age of 65.
Now… in relation to my voice…
Years ago, had a man tell me that I should be on radio. This was a former customer who I saw frequently. I never saw my voice as appealing, but then I started feeling intrigued.
I’ve had comments off an on about my voice. I even have a podcast that I need to resume recordings for.
Oddly enough, I’m normally confused when I listen back over my recordings. I know sort of by memory what I sound like, like how I remember my appearance. Then I hear and see myself, and I’m a tad bit confused.

At current, I’m still working to get the house prepped for the new cat. She is definitely pregnant and supposedly has another month left in the pregnancy. Also, she’s apparently 2 years and 2 months old.
But she is very petite. I hope that doesn’t cause problems with delivery.
I am dipping into my food money to get some whelping supplies for her.
