Not Sure It Counts

Daily writing prompt
Are there things you try to practice daily to live a more sustainable lifestyle?

I recycle what I can. My dad claims I recycle most out of the family.

I prefer using reusable grocery bags, however, my groceries have been delivered more often. So, I recycle the paper bags the companies use.

I use LEDs for my light bulbs, and my newer appliances are energy efficient.

Don’t know if baking or cooking count, but I usually make my own bread and my own preserves.

I don’t spend 10,000 years in the shower.

I’ve started using my ceramic mugs and plates instead of plastic cups and paper plates.

Edit: I also use a countertop dishwasher. It uses 1.5 gallons of water for washing and rinsing. I put small plates and my cutlery in it.

  1. Use what you need and save some for future needs, and the rest; Share.

    1. I enjoy sharing when I make pickles. I’ve also been trading one reusable bag back and forth with a friend. If we have stuff for each other, we use the bag.

I’m debating learning canning so I can have produce in long term storage.
