I’ve had moments in time where I’ve been so frustrated over what seems like minor problems. The point to me seems to actually be to not panic.

However… seeing as things are getting worse, I have been looking into getting what one would call a ‘burner’ phone. It’s got nearly no data, but it wouldn’t be used for its data. It’s moreso to be used for email security. A phone I would likely leave at home.

It’s so sad that accounts use 2FA to connect… but for that to work, you need a mobile phone.

So here are the problems I see with that.

• To recover or log in to many of my accounts, I need to have use of a mobile phone.
• If my mobile phone is stolen or the number is ported, I won’t be able to even access my email, let alone get in contact with my carrier to fix the issue. Your carrier has to send you a code to confirm things to your mobile phone and… Yeah.
• That’s something I’ve always wondered… the whole deal about having your numbers stolen.
• Then I’m on the fence because it’s normally people who have prepaid phones that have that issue.
• But I don’t want to pay un-gazillion dollars to have a backup and secured phone number.
• I am too poor to afford one of those new-fangled satellite phones, (they are not new) so I can’t even dream of one of those.

So I’m perched in my chair debating between paying under $10 a month, with literally 0 security that something bad won’t happen… Or pay closer to $40 a month that might have 0-1 in terms of security.

Depends on the company. I’m currently looking at BoostMobile and AT&T. If Boost has decent enough security, I will grab it. If it’s AT&T… yeah, probably will.

This phone won’t ever leave the house so…

Ugh… I had this.

I’ve been called paranoid, but I know this about people.

If you have something, there’s a risk that someone will take it.

• If you have a car, someone can steal that.
• If you have a house, someone can steal that.
  • The House Title theft is real.
• If you’re homeless and on the street with a tent, someone can steal that.
• If you don’t even have a tent, your clothes and/or food can be stolen.
• If you’re buck naked, someone can take your life.

I swear, I wish I wasn’t like this…

But if people weren’t like that, I wouldn’t be…

I’ll be up for some hours tonight getting cleaning done. I also need to eat something decent – like a salad. So I don’t feel so much like roadkill.
