Extremely long day. It is funny in a way – how it happened and all. I was planning on staying inside today and playing games. Instead, I had a friend casually mention how much her ink cost. I asked her if she was sure and with a few more questions, I found out that her ink cost about $56 instead of $70.
She wasn’t sure, but I gave her the number to the Staples we normally go to. It was about the same price in person as it would have been online. So, she asked if I had any plans.
I explained that I had none. So, she asked if we could go get her ink. Like the same day. Then, I responded with a: “Can we hit up the AmazonBox near there too?” since I had a package that had just arrived.
In less than 20 minutes, I was flying out the door with two bags of these super tasty almond flour crackers. Brand is Simple Mills.
We got her ink, then I got my stuff. Then I swung past two extra Amazon Boxes to get more stuff. In my case, I have two that I use that are super close to me.
While we were heading to them, my friend asked if we could go to Costco. I just… stared at her, since Costco was closing at like 6PM and it was nearly 5…
I explained that I at least needed a bathroom break, and then we would get back on the road.
She apologized for being impulsive and crazy. I simply explained that since I too was crazy that I was in the right company.
I was back out less than 5 minutes after we got to my house, then I flew (limped in reality) back to the car and proceeded to drive to that store too. She wasn’t aware that there were alternative routes to get there… seeing as I prefer not to use the ‘shortcuts’. I prefer long, but stable routes. Due to this, it can take me longer to get to places than normal.
Not everyone is a fan of taking the ‘scenic’ route. I don’t often mind though.
Today was unfortunately, not one of those days. We got to where we had to and were out the door right on time.
Now, I’m struggling to push down my yawns.
I have two friends coming to help me around the house. And they’ve never been inside my house before. So…
Ugh. I have to do a massive and quick overhauling clean of the house.
And clean everything that doesn’t involve me scrubbing down a wall.
I suppose it’s not too bad seeing as a few inspectors will be here soon enough.
It’s long past time for me to clean up this hovel.
Currently, the easiest place in the house to clean is the basement. It’s also the coldest room in here, so it’ll be last.
I’ve no clue what my current plan of attack will be, but I’ll work as I go. I also need to get all of the recyclables out of here as soon as humanly possible on Monday.
All of them.
All.
I am absolutely terrified at the idea of having my very good friends seeing inside my horribly filthy home.
Okay… that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but I don’t have the neatest home either.
Today, while I was zipping around in the car – defying the brand-new clinging exhausting from my mood stabilizer – I was struck at just how much busted glass was everywhere. Breaking into cars has unfortunately become a pastime for many people.
Some people here do it just for fun. It’s awful. And aggravating.
And speaking as a person who has no money, it’s frightening that I might end up having to replace my windows just because some jerk decided he (or she… Criminals are equal opportunity…) wanted to have a very brief bit of fun. Of course, that ‘smidgen’ of a good time would result in me not being able to drive around too much… as the damage would no doubt cut into my gas budget.
Money has to come from somewhere, right? I’m still trying to figure out my toothpaste issue. I don’t need a busted window issue.
Or a stolen tire issue.
People here like stealing tires too.
Sometimes I feel like the people here are striving to steal any sense of comfort or safety that I have.
It’s scary and sad.
I don’t want to be here, but better the devil you know than the devil you don’t.
Yunno?
I also fell back on my bed after I got in and ruminated over what people had to be thinking. I was also immensely happy to be off my feet. I ended up experiencing terribly ‘jolts’ of throbbing pain in my right leg. It was like the bone was attempting to escape my leg.
I had someone block a driveway I was trying to get to – with their high beams on.
I ended up seeing spots for a bit too long.
My mood stabilizer supposedly will worsen my light sensitivity.
I hope not.
I was already hissing and trying to drive towards the sun whilst also keeping an eye on the traffic lights earlier today.
I have my new ink cartridge inserted and it works.
Oh! I also had ink to get today. And ink to return.
It all comes full circle.
I wanna watch “Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman” while I’m working on the house, but… I dunno. The show always seemed kinda campy and sort of lame too. To be fair, “Xena: Warrior Princess” and “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys” were on the air around the same time.
Course, I preferred Xena over Hercules… Don’t know too many who preferred Kevin Sorbo’s show more over Lucy Lawless.
However, the sheer overwhelming levels of camp. That had the Xena stamp all over it. Guaranteed cheesy nearly every episode.
So I wonder if Doctor Quinn will be as campy and ridiculous as I remember. No distaste for Jane Seymour at all… She did a fantastic job.
Maybe it was that the character reminded me of Mary Poppins?
… I somehow have had my blog post dissolve into a trip, then a slippery slide down memory lane.
I’ll leave it here. I have a bit of reading to do tonight and then it’s off to the races!
My legs are already crying for mercy…
