Currently watching “The Croods”, which is one of my favorite movies. Right behind “Monsters vs Aliens”. That one’s one of the funniest movies I’ve seen. It was based on a lot of other older horror flicks.
I had a strange conversation with my dad, about this story he’d seen of a female serial killer who had been a prostitute. When he said that, I had an idea as to who he meant. I asked if he was talking about Aileen Wuornos, who was executed after 12 years on death row.
I told him how upsetting her case was for me. Years ago, I saw the movie “Monster”, which was based on her life. And it portrayed her as having some serious issues. I didn’t know until I looked her up again tonight that she had been diagnosed with two different mental illnesses.
Then I read that her father was diagnosed with schizophrenia and wondered if she’d had that too.
This poor woman had borderline personality disorder and antisocial personality disorder. Why would I say poor woman when she was responsible for the deaths of seven men? When you look back at her life from birth till when she started committing the murders, you find that her life set her up for having so many problems.
I had no clue that she’d had a son at 14. I didn’t know that her grandfather had been so abusive to her, both mentally and physically. I don’t want to go into too much detail about what she went through. We’ll just say that it’s a cascading wall of “But wait… it gets worse!” All of this started when she was just four years old.
So now, back on “The Croods”, I have plans of working on a fanfiction short with them. Which sounds fantastic and fun in my head. That doesn’t mean that the story itself will be an enjoyable read, but we’ll see where it goes. I have a literal trifecta of things I’ll be working on.
“Open Arms” will be getting a well-deserved revision along with “Navigating the Curve”, all while I’m working on new chapters. I do need to set up a schedule, because I’m going to be working on learning French as well.
Out of all of that, “Learning French” sounds the most impulsive of it all, but I think it’ll be worth it.
That’s it for now. I’m currently listening to ‘Guy’ tell the family a story.
I loved the first movie so much and found the second one to be hilarious.
