When I was growing up, I was never given housekeys. So when my family went grocery shopping, they would lock me in the house. Even at the age of 16, I was locked inside.
… And the windows had bars. 😦
If I came home from college and no one was there, I was stuck waiting outside until someone let me in.
I actually came home one day, and my grandfather was asleep. So of course he never heard me.
I ended up waiting two additional hours to be let in the back door. I was hurting–in so much pain. I didn’t know the neighbors because I wasn’t allowed out often unless it was for school, so I couldn’t even ask any of them to let me use their bathroom.
Today? My friends have keys to get in. And of course I have keys to get in and out.
But… I had to wait until my grandmother died. So the keys I’m using were hers.
… Some things still linger.

Oh, and this is weird.
But I opened up a Ko-Fi if anyone wants to send me a bit to help with cat food or litter (or coffee). No pressure though.
I have the link in the side panel on the right.
“Buy me a coffee.”
Thank you if you can spare anything!
