In times of power outages and chaos, the phone jack and copper line was the main way to call anyone. No companies want to maintain the copper lines… which is sad.
One company I changed to claimed that I could keep using the copper, then went back on their word and said they didn’t understand what I meant, when I was clear about it outright.
Went back to prior company that gave the same lie, but I believed them because I’d had copper with them before.
Now if I have a power outage, my phone line is toast.
Next time we have a major disaster that shakes the cell towers and knocks the power out… won’t be able to call anyone.

I’m sure they, of course, have phones that will never have that issue.
