I would normally say yes, but I don’t live a minimalistic life.
My life involves having things. One is banking. I deal with 7 different companies with with either credit cards or savings/checking accounts.
I have a car that I could save money by not having because of upkeep and insurance costs, but I would lose transportation. I sometimes buy redundant things. Such as tools or digital things.
I have recently found some peace with my financial situation.
Do I still buy things I might not need but want? Yes. And I’ve found a lot of value in my redundancies.
For additional background: I come from a family of hoarders, so while I do throw out objects, sometimes I struggle. I love cleared space? Will I toss one of the three pipe wrenches I have?
No.
I have a snake I can barely use now. I also have a drill which I do use if need be.
I bought a bread machine years ago that I thought was a waste, but now I can make full size loaves of bread. I have a lot of kitchen appliances, that I have suddenly recently found myself using.
(Take out is expensive.) So a lot more baking and cooking.
Thought three double boilers were indulgent, but I have used two at a time. Got no microwave.
Different laptops, tablets and phones. Older devices are backups for newer devices.
Hm… I have debated minimalism, but it’s not something I can do.
