I’ve been told that wine does this, but I have no personal experience.
Cheese gets more delicious with age.
Many seasonings get better with age. I have no clue why there is an expiration date on basil or garlic powder… Or salt! These seasonings do not rotten. If anything, basil becomes more fragrant and tasty with age.
I do believe that men’s voices get better with age.
Women become more assured with age as well.
I know physical strength might decline. However, if the person keeps their mind active, memory also improves with age.
Two of my best friends are nearly 80. Both of them have momentary losses in memory, like all of us do, but they’re sharp as tacks. One of them gets worried if she forgets something, worried it’s an indicator of strokes.
… To which I remind her that I forget entire words that belong to things.
I actually had two strokes last year. I’m not yet 40.
In mind, I was scared one day… because I couldn’t remember the name of a food I liked. I had to google “carrot and cabbage” dishes. The search came up with coleslaw.
COLESLAW.
I’ve been eating coleslaw for years, but I forgot the name.
So along with my lack of balance, which means that I sometimes stumble on the air in my room, I’ve had to battle memory issues. Nothing worse in those moments… than flailing for what should be no reason.
I’ve had to combat not just forgetting some words, but also forgetting how they’re spelled.
In terms of healthier people though, yeah, their mental fortitude only strengthens with age.
