I’ve been suffering with what I’d call a ‘idea’ worm. I have behind me three notebooks, to the left of me is another notebook and to the far right of me is an additional notebook.
All of these notebooks have one thing in common, and what that would be… is their individual ‘identities’ as reservoirs for my ideas.
“Open Arms,” “Navigating the Curve,” “Catch & Release,” “Continuum,” and “Shorts.”
For “Open Arms,” I need to completely rewrite the premises—the ultimate goal… while I just got an idea for.
BOOM BABY!
“Navigating the Curve” will soon be packing a nightmarish spree of chapters… I hope the readers don’t form a mob with torches and pitchforks.
“Catch & Release” currently has a Part I, Part II and a Part III. While Part III is being completed, work will begin on penning out Part IV. Yes Part IV. This is my first series.
“Continuum” is a fanfic based in Star Trek: Voyager universe. I haven’t decided if it’s going to be a standalone or part of a series. Who are the characters? That’s for me to know and hopefully for you to find out because I remembered.
In my “Shorts” book, I just reviewed an idea I wrote down last year for a potential sweet short based off one of my favorite movies.
And… the last story doesn’t have a notebook yet. It also wasn’t mentioned. The title of it is “Improbable,” and I have nearly no idea what the story was supposed to be about originally. As in end-game. I have some ideas as to what would have been in it… but we’re not going there.
I have the first chapter, written in 2007 and the second in 2008.
I was a very different person back then, but my goodness… The writing looks so familiar to today… that instead of 2007, it looked like it would have been written in 2018.
Or 2021. Whichever one suits it really.
I didn’t start pushing on word counts until late 2020. I started NtC as a way to challenge myself as a writer and an outlet from the Covid stuckindoors stress.
My goal for a big chunk of today was put order back to these fanfics, and I think I did an okay job.
Just created a character who is based from one originally in Marvel. I looked over the character concept, scratched my head and brought back a character I used to roleplay with on an online forum back in 2002 and 2003.
Then… I pulled ideas from my somewhat horrifying memories of that terrifying character and created this one. Which will cause quite a bit of chaos in NtC.
