Rainy Days

Now about two days out from when someone tried to break into my home… I’m starting to let my mind relax if not a little.

I enjoy the rain. Not sure if I’ve mentioned that before, but the sound is soothing. My newest alarm clock has a feature where it plays a rainstorm.

Believe it or not, I’ve never fallen asleep quite so fast!

It seemed that most of today… or was it yesterday? We had rain the entire day.

I’m angry though because I still used the Sims 4 to vent. However, at least I had an endgame in sight. I finally got my newest couple married and moved into their own apartment. What’s amusing about this is that they have their own unit and share the entire rental lot with five other couples. They’ll all around the same age, which is nice. They don’t argue… or rather, they haven’t had enough time around each other to have any serious problems.

Never thought I’d survive that home. Four adults, two little kids and two toddlers.

Yikes. It was so hard to keep everyone fed. One of the sims stays around the home, so she handles repairs, cooking, and gardening. She’s also sold some of her food due to that food vender pack from the game.

The kids went to school, three of the adults ran to work and the toddlers stayed at the house with her. Now… it’s four adults and two kids, seeing as the first kids grew up, married each other and moved out.

No, I don’t believe they’re related. Though that has happened twice on accident.

I think the next lot has twin babies. I have no clue who pushed for the idea of the babies and toddlers looking the same, but oh man… an extra life stage.

With all of the new updates and packs, I do look forward to getting back to one of the ‘Chase’ families. I can just imagine how to restructure their entire home and redesign their daughter’s ‘separate’ tiny house on the lot.

I can’t remember if their daughter goes to school. I suppose I’ll have to check and do a “census” with all of my families. Some of those families are massive. One of the families has like seven six kids, two parents and a horse. Now… the limit in home lots is 8 sims, including horses. One of their sons went to stay with others… seeing as his consistent gluttony meant he was eating everything… even raw dough.

I was struggling at first since all the babies are breastfed and have cloth diapers. There’s a constant stream of laundry being done. How to power such items (like a washer and dryer) when off the grid?? Via lots of solar panels and windmills.

One of the mods I picked up was the “Childbirth Mod.” I kid you not. It introduced “breast pumps,” so it was easy for the teens or even the dad to just pop a bottle in the baby’s mouth. The toddlers could also help themselves in lieu of eating regular food.

….

I think now I’m getting a handle on multiple sim homes. Two of my families are rental lot owners, so I get to deal with tenants and handling violations and/or doing inspections.

Course, the “newborn” to “baby” and then “toddler” stages are still horrifying… I have to sit on the toddlers like you wouldn’t believe to make sure they max out all of their skills before turning into kids. It helps them get a head start in everything they do.

I think after this, I’ll do my assignment and if I have time… look into doing that census. I do know that I have a chart listing who is getting married to whom… and now that I have new families, I have to squeeze them in.

Also, these folks have got to age faster! I have zero elders right now. One family breeds horses, and their daughter just got married on vacation in a tropical region and brought her new husband home.

So… let’s do the math. Four of them, plus three horses… or is it four? Someone gotta die so that I can fit more Sims in. Or I can just list them as “unplayed” maybe? I have a limit of 150 sims and I’m near the 100 limit as it is.

And yet… I started off with 14. -_-

All the marriages and kids. With the different mods, some of my Sims wandered off to have happy times with their spouses… and it led to me scrambling to monitor their kid/s so they wouldn’t get whisked away…

So, this is how I vented due to the stress of being upset first that someone tried to break in and then disappointed that the police here refuse to even make a report or look at the video.

I even reported to them years ago that I had a hard drive with questionable content on it. They refused to do anything.

Were I in a different state and told them I had a hard drive that some pervert had put child pornography on, they would have taken it seriously.

Yet the police here claimed it could have been family photos. I told them: “Sure… it’s family photos of naked children.” I had print outs of the person who did that, all of this evidence… and they joked that maybe he was ‘pretending’ to have an interest in young girls.

Nothing was ever done and I entrusted the drive to an uncle. He of course, lost the thing.

People suck.

Right after that, I took a computer course and learned that I could have accessed the contents of the drive myself. But did I want to have to view that filth? Absolutely not.

The police had suggested that I look at it myself before coming to them to show them. These were female police officers, which is even more aggravating.

Oh well… stuff people do always comes back.

Now then… assignment, then census. Or census then assignment. Or ½ assignment, then census?

Both?

Neither??

IDK anymore.

Ciao!

Apologies for my obsessing over the sims and rant. I was and still am a bit upset over what happened. Especially due to the nonchalance of people who are supposed to protect us from this kind of stuff.

People keep attempting break-ins because the police never address it. Not afterwards, nor do they do anything while it’s in progress, too often. Ugh…
