Whatever I was supposed to do today was swallowed up under extreme fatigue and brain games.
What bitty bit of brain I have is quite fuzzy right now. Fatigue is clinging to me like a musky, sweaty coat – and I don’t appreciate it. I can’t seem to properly regulate my own temperature correctly either.
I feel hot, so I turn on my fan and AC. Then I start hurting because of feeling cold, so I scoot the fan away a bit to help.
THEN I feel hot again, so I swap it back.
And it goes on and on and ON and ON.
It’s good I have prehensile toes. They act like a second set of hands, so I can grip the sides of the fan to move it without having to bend over to reach it.
Seriously. My big toes and thumbs are the exact same length.
… And I don’t have short fingers either. The other toes are roughly a bit over half the length of my fingers.
… Man, I missed a prime time in life to learn to write with my feet.
Anyways…
A few of my friends have suggested I’m going through menopause.
Good grief. That is the last thing I need. To go into menopause before 50.
I’m not exaggerating either. My next-door neighbor is fifty and still has a period.
Mmm. I don’t know right now if I’m just hot from cooking dinner or tired.
I took a nap with oldcat earlier since the kitten kept pouncing on her and she kept screaming for help. To give her relief, I went through the effort of hauling her massive litterbox in here along with her foot and water.
Wanna know how she repaid me?
She tried to chew on my phone cable.
Back out into the mayhem she went. I already have enough with the kitten trying to eat my wires. I don’t need an animal that’s 20 years old trying to do the exact same thing.
The kitten is not an adult. The last few days, I’ve noticed she keeps chasing her tail, gnawing on it and chewing on her toes too.
… I think she’s bored.
I’m already looking into an automated laser pen toy or maybe just a regular laser… and some other toys that move.
I worried that might be a problem, having myself as an owner and having oldcat as… well… old.
I refuse to get a second kitten though. Kittens turn into cats and I was very fortunate that this one has such a sweet temperament.
After reading some reviews online, I’ve opted for a laser pointer. I also have a cat teaser that it is now time to bring out of storage.
I ACTUALLY HAVE A CAT THAT WILL PLAY WITH TOYS NOW!
The last time I had a cat so willing to play was when I took care of two kittens. They played with each other, thank goodness.

The night is mine. Whatever I do… it’ll be done.
