I’m too sick to even try to joke right now. I took my aging cat to the vet because I was worried about serious intestinal issues. What was coming out of her looked like peanut butter.
I did take her sample in still, and vet sent for testing.
He said she seemed very healthy, just had gross ears. I don’t know where all her earwax comes from. It’s so weird.
Not the strangest thing about her though.
With how she’s behaving lately though… I think the time has come for me to decide on whether I’m picking up a new cat. If I do, it needs to be a kitten.
Let’s be real for a moment. I’ve technically already decided on a kitten, but I need to figure out where to get it from.
Dad’s offered me one of his kittens, but his cats are all born outside. So, I’d have to treat for fleas, worms, get them rabies shots and of course a spay or neuter. And pray that the cat doesn’t have FIV, leukemia or isn’t harboring distemper.
That’s a bit much. A free cat translates into a slew of treatments I’d have to pay for. So… it’s best just to pick up one that’s already been spayed or neutered and has most of its shots up to date.
My cat is way too old to get a distemper shot, so taking in an untested formerly feral cat is a bad idea.
And by old, I mean she’s 20 years old.
The heat today was bad for both of us, but primarily me.
The drive to the vet’s office was difficult, yes… but the drive back was pretty bad. By the time I managed to get home, I felt like I was going to collapse somewhere.
Since some bad actors are stealing older vehicles now, I’ve resorted to putting a two-stage defense on my car. My father told me that a club was almost useless because thieves cut through the steering wheel. I told him that the club is a distraction, because if they manage to get the club off, they’ll have to content with the brake lock I’ve put in place.
Now, I don’t know if they’d be willing to cut the brake off to free it from the lock, but it doesn’t matter. If they wanna drive a car without working brakes – okay then.
My car can’t be shifted into neutral easily either, even if you use the brake and unlock the wheel. It needs the key in place.
It’s not just that I hate needing such security measures in place, but I can’t afford a new car. Especially not one as efficient as that one.
She’s old, but that doesn’t matter much at all. She also looks horrible on the outside. I’ve refused to repair the deep scars on her because it would make her look too attractive to thieves.
The time spent having to secure the locks in place were miserable because I didn’t have any working AC at that point.
It’s like this…
Turn Car Off -> Lock Steering Wheel -> Secure Brake Lock -> Secure Club
… All while the temperatures were in the 90s. I was faced forward though, so even though two of my doors were open – to let out hot air, I would have seen if anyone came nearby.
I got in, dragged in the furry pile of dust that often meows at me, then had to wait for her litter to show up. Normally, I would have gone to the store, but I realize that I would have expired myself had that been the case.
The litter showed up ahead of its delivery window and soon as I got it, went upstairs and took a nap.
I have a lesson to work on, so I’ll drag this laptop into bed with me. Uncertain if I’ll get much done though.
Oh! And my little cousin’s cat has been found!
… After it was gone for like 3 months!
That’s it.

TBH, I’ll probably just go to bed since I still feel like hot garbage, rn. Hopefully get up in AM and do part of assignment. Or all if possible.
