Head Stomach Connection

My father was shocked when I told him how I could eat a 16-inch pizza in one sitting. Along with wings. This wasn’t the thin crust either. It was a thicker crust pizza from Papa John’s.

Now that I’m making my own pizza, the stuff I could buy just… smells absolutely awful. It looks and tastes salty and gross.

I don’t even look at DiGiorno. I used to love Little Cesar or Tombstone.

No pizza can now compare. Plus, it’s far healthier for me to eat my own pizzas.

The thing is, no one needs that much food. No one. Like, you can share that pizza with seven friends and everyone will get enough.

At that point, there’s an emotional issue attached. Or just pure boredom. I noticed early on that food made me feel better when I was upset.

Or bored.

It’s a fact that eating in front of the TV results in people eating more than they expected they would. Especially if it is movie night and the nachos, popcorn, candy and soda is flowing freely.

Now… I still eat in front of the TV. However, I track my meals and what I normally eat in front of the TV is the contents of either my plate or bowl.

It’s so hard to not fix more… it’s hard to have to measure. 28 grams of almonds is tiny in the hand. Same for 30 grams of crackers.

Tonight, I struggled. Not with a lower amount but because my intake was so low.

I found it amusing too because on my meal planner, it mentioned almonds. Which I hadn’t had yet.

I had to eat the almonds to get over 1200. That’s under my allotment, but right at the level that won’t crash the metabolism.

It’s hard sometimes… because I used to eat something when I was in a bad mood. Or a good mood.

For any reason and at any time.

Time of day really doesn’t matter in terms of what you eat. What matters is that you don’t overdo it over the course of a 24-hour day.

Today, I managed to spend a little over $17 on cooking supplies. As in Japanese mirin and garam masala.

They had a “Buy 2, Get One FREE” for the garam masala.

Mmm! That seasoning is soo good!

I have an entire rack for my seasonings. And by rack, I meal shelving that is so high that it’s a little above my head. Each shelf has spices on it too – for reference.

I even have a dry Jamaican jerk seasoning that I put together some months ago.

Smoked paprika, garlic, onion, cumin, parsley, minced onion, powdered onion. That is just a few. Not of the ingredients in the jerk, but what I actually have.

I have white pepper too, which smells like sweaty gym socks.

And so many more seasonings…

I was angry today too.

They were completely out of curry powder!

When did people start making curry?! It’s so upsetting…

Not that I could afford it anyway.

I only have $1.00 on my card now. And it is $1.00 only. No change.

It’s not even enough to buy distilled water. Gallons of that stuff here is close to $2.50.

I’m gonna go set up the cat’s stuff for tonight and my sheet for tomorrow.

And the mirin is because I want to make my own lo mein.

Gonna make a less fatty, less salty version. Nobody needs 1,200mg of salt.

… For any reason!
