Taskmaster

I can prefix this post in this manner.

I am tired.

Bone tired. Like, if you could see my bones, they’d be yawning super wide too. They’d also be droopy and a bit grumpy.

I’ve managed to cover most items on my chore list – not including my errands – all of which I’ll address in the morning. The only two things left are “Tiny Office” and “Tidy Bedroom”.

Normally, I would grant myself a full hour for this. I want to just do it for 40 minutes. Maybe I can manage a whole hour? I’m not sure. I was debating having it be in increments of 30, but realize that’s foolish.

My office and my bedroom are in the same general area. Like, if I were to break the area up into quarters my office would be ¼th of it all, while the rest of the bedroom would be the remaining ¾th.

Even though they’re in the same place – or rather even though my office is quite literally inside my bedroom – I’m trying to keep them separated. I have separate trash cans for both areas. I have separate power strips and even two cables, one on each end, for my cellphone.

I have to admit… rotating my bed was a fantastic decision. It really opened the room. I have so much more space now!

It’s very nice. Now, I just need to get my supply boxes labeled, stacked and put In the proper places. I also need to tidy off the surfaces of my desk, dresser, nightstand and chest of drawers. I already rearranged my entertainment center in here.

I do need to dust it a bit up here. I dusted downstairs in the dining and living rooms. The biggest part of my activity between both rooms was the vacuuming and dusting this time. I also pulled cardboard and bags.

Hauled out trash today.

Oh! Speaking of chores… My toilet for some reason is clogging and backing up… with water coming up in the bathtub.

I want to cry.

I’m going to end up in a rubber bucket again in the shower – trying to clean myself off without getting – potentially – “toilet water” on my feet.

Yikes.

Eww… I don’t want to do my bedroom and office, but I sort of promised a friend pictures.

Pictures will be taken in the morning when I actually have clothes on.

… I’m literally looking over the dresser and nightstand with dread in my tiny, cold heart.

Oh well. No time like the present.

Gonna go take my nighttime med, then rush up here.

Fortunately, I handled the dishes and cat earlier. I ordered dinner tonight from a different restaurant.

I wish I hadn’t. I assumed since “Halal” was in the name that it would be decent. Extraordinary even.

Hahaha. I lied to myself.

Instead, I’m worried that they sent me unseasoned, boiled and old chicken. It smelled weird too. My cat ate some of it, so I ate it too after slathering it with sauces.

I wolfed down a bunch of ginger afterwards, so hopefully I won’t get sick.

That’s also why I’m pushing myself to be up another hour. Just in case I want to puke.

Too many people have drowned in their own vomit.

Great post about tackling chores and organizing spaces! I’ve always struggled with keeping my work and living areas separated, so it’s interesting to hear about your approach. On a different note, I hope your toilet and bathtub issue gets resolved soon. Have you considered calling a plumber or trying to fix it yourself? [logical question]

    1. Thank you very much. Much of this is possible because I’m on the right kinds of medications now.

Before the meds, I wanted to have a solid area where I could have my laptop set up, and I’ve wanted an L-shaped desk forever… so I went and bought one, then assembled it. Alone. It took me like 13 hours. Or whatever 12PM to 12AM looks like. At first, I barely had space for it, but since I rearranged my bed, there’s lots of space.

I do have some suggestions if you want office/living areas near each other but separated. This is only a suggestion and what helped me.

      1) Get labels. Like the sticky ones that you can slap on things after scribbling what they are.
      2) Write a list of what you want to have packed up, as in containers. Take what you need and add about 5 more just in case.
      3) Go to the Dollar Tree / Dollar Store / Low priced store for some large basic food containers or the ones with the lids that snap on.
      4) Label what you want and where.
      5) Get stuff separated and stacked. I have some small metal shelves I got on Amazon. I like that I can determine how much space is between each shelf.
5*) Or you could obtain a tall utility shelf, get storage boxes, label stuff and get them stacked.

I hope some of those suggestions helped. I have three of those huge shelves here, two in the dining room for food storage and one in the cat’s room for supply storage. I also got her two big containers to hold her food and cat litter in. 🙂 She likes to climb up on them.

I took your suggestion to heart and contacted a plumber for some emergency work. He should be here tomorrow… So will see how it goes.

I’ve tried to unclog my tub before the last time it became blocked, but I’m not physically strong enough to use the snake properly. I’m also of the mind that what my pipes have at current is a sewer line clog.

I tried some enzyme remover, but that isn’t helping at all.

Apologies for the delayed response. I’ve been working hard on my room for hours now.

Thank you so much for such a nice comment! I appreciate it.
