Okay, I can most certainly call myself sleep deprived now. I was up for hours last night… or should I say THIS MORNING. Should I bold that? Maybe slap on additional font edits? Should I try to make it bigger so it all stands out?
I’ll try it. On my end, of course, I can see the changes. I’m still rocking Word 2019.
Ooh! Fancy!
I think the sun was rising as I was going to bed.
Only to pop up three hours later! I had a fantastic meeting today.
And not too long ago, I went and reuploaded “Navigating the Curve” Chapters 5 and 6 on ArchiveOfOurOwn. To do edits for Fanfiction.net, I’ll need to log in. I have plans to log in and take care of business in the morning.
I think what bothered me so much was that for the Chapter 6 revision, I actually had to backtrack. And write brand new material. Six pages worth as a matter of fact.
I sincerely hope that for Chapters 8 & 9 that I don’t need to write that much.
I removed 2,079 words and replaced them with 1,494. Which means I was barely skimming the edge and hanging just above 10,000 words. Even though a huge chunk of that was the “Disclaimer”, “Warning”, and “Trigger”. It still counts because it’s stuff I had to write!
I can’t believe that I just now realized that I was 585 words short. I mean, after all, I could just go back into Chapter 6… like right now – and punch out an additional 500 words. Do I want to though? I can’t do too much right now aside from a bit more filling fluff. I don’t think any of my readers have noticed the changes yet because we (including me) are all waiting on Chapter 19. None of them would be looking at earlier Chapters. However, my newer readers will be in for some surprises.
About that… I have no idea what Chapter 19 was supposed to be about. I’m more than a little upset over that. I need to review my notes.
I’m very happy that I at least had notes about it.
I’m also going to start revisions on Chapter 2 of “Open Arms” tonight after I finish my personal reading. I might even finish out Chapter 12 if I can figure out where I was from the notes I had.
Unfortunately, I was nowhere near as good at keeping notes for OA. I’ll have to comb through the chapters, review what I have and make a choice. I had originally abandoned the story because it was stressful to write something that was canon.
I can always pick it back up, but it needs extensive revision. It’s so bad that instead of trying to edit the document from within, I’m starting brand new documents and writing again from the beginning. I pin the actual chapter on one side and the empty document on the other and go from there.
Let’s see how it goes. If I time things right, I can also get some chores done tonight too. I really need to do the laundry.
Eheh…
Later!

And this blog post was on the heels of 6 pages too. It’s 549 words long.
