I remembered this old song from one of the reaction channels I’ve watched in the past. Showed it to my friend today and her jaw dropped. Not quite what she expected to see.
We went over quite of my favorites in terms of older songs. She thought that “King of Wishful Thinking” is absolutely hilarious and ridiculous. Then I was asked if the actual pope was in that video.
Honestly? I have no idea. Maybe it’s an actor.
I also introduced her to some of the medical channels I watch.
I’m a really big fan of Chubbyemu’s channel. I’m into science and medicine and all sorts of things really. I know quite a few miscellaneous things that never seem useful at the outset… Until something happens.
I think now she understands how I know as much as I do about so many different topics.
I started off by mentioning how a grandmother contracted salmonella, which spread and broke a bone in her leg. Then, they found out that she had HIV. Mind, she was 78, but she’d had a blood transfusion around 1990 in Latin America.
Course, then my friend found out a sad fact that I knew… that years back, companies in the US sent HIV contaminated blood to Latin America and Asia. It wasn’t on accident either. They intentionally did that.
It’s sad, isn’t it?
Then, we ended up watching a video about how a man damaged his kidneys by drinking 2 gallons of coffee. There was also a woman who ate like 10lbs of bananas and nearly killed herself.
There are lots of videos there. There’s also Absolute History. I enjoy the shows there too. It’s frightening that wallpaper way back then contained high amounts of led and killed people. Even more shocking were the people who died due to fumes when trying to have hot baths.
Then you had kids dropping dead because the earlier baby bottles couldn’t be properly cleaned.
… and how the royals – I believe around the Tudor Era – had severe gum disease and lost teeth due to eating copious amounts of sugar, but how the peasants had ALL of their teeth. They were too poor to buy sugar. These royals also made imitation bacon out of sugar.
Soo greedy. One channel I watched explained what Henry VIII actually died from. And I also told my friend about how Elvis had megacolon. Dude had like 4 month’s worth of waste in his intestines. 30lbs worth of waste. For my UK readers, that would be… okay, pardon my poor translation… 2 stone, 2 pounds… or 13.6kgs.
Either way, that’s a lot!
Then again “the king” would eat fool’s gold loaf, comprising of a single hollowed out loaf of bread, filled with 1 entire jar of peanut butter, an entire jar of grape jelly and one pound of bacon. And allegedly abused pain killers?
Oh well, I did see a video up about Calamity Jane. I have an assignment to do and my alarm reminded me to take my night pill, so I’m good.
Night!
