I suppose this is one of the many pitfalls of going and posting fanfiction online? So many people who are “offering” me paid services. They link you to their social media which shows terrible art.

Well, I shouldn’t say it like that. It’s not very nice.

But my artwork looked the same when I was in the 8^th grade.

I’m almost in my 40s.

I would expect one of these dozens of professional artists to have work that looks professional. People who are real artists have work to back it up. What I learned about these spammers, and yes, spam… There are a lot of people who get hit. Sadly, too many pay for these bogus ‘services.’ They’ll charge you a lot for what is AI generated in the end. Real commissioned artists who are up to the caliber of the comics tend to be on DA or another artist-based website.

I’ve been on a writing hiatus since March 10^th… and I am still getting these messages.

So I decided to try to see how real AI art works. I found a free program. That advertises itself when I hit ads for coins in my game. Because I don’t want to pay for them.

Yes, I got an image of Jabba the Hutt in a pink tutu and an image of Jabba the Hutt with a bodybuilder’s body.

I lost a lot of sleep and went through two devices getting images. But I finally figured out what I wanted.

So… I’ll share them here.

I searched for hours. No clue WHERE this came from. It’s not recognized as an actual language. I think the AI just set it up in a comic book style? No clue.

I’m not done yet!

Note the six fingers… and that his thumb is superlong. That’s one of the ways you know it’s AI. It’s not just random limbs, but also extra, warped or missing fingers. Human artists know how many fingers other humans typically have so…

Let’s be real though. This software is free, and the most I’ll ever use this for is scene inspiration or chapter covers. Such as on Wattpad.

It’s not right nor fair for people who are running a quick scheme to take legitimate jobs from writers who really are looking for artists.

I might use that absolute top image for the cover for NtC. It’s a nice summary of where the stories is. It’s also eerie how well AI does the faces of celebrities.
