Anyone remember the video of the kid who got a Werther’s from their grandpa and ate it with him? My granddad did that too. It’s one of my favorites. He also always had pockets full of butterscotch candy. My grandma always had peppermints.
I found out about root beer barrels a few years ago.
But… my favorite candy is actually a toss up between York Peppermint Patties and Crunch Bars.
I think that mint and chocolate compliment one another very well.
Maybe I have older taste buds, cos a lot of the candy I see looks horrific to me. And is way too sweet.
I recently resumed chewing Extra again. Won’t bother with Big Red anymore.

If you’re wondering, I can’t tolerate sticky candy. So soft and sticky caramel irritates me. Taffy and I are not friends. I can’t handle starbursts or snickers bars. I want to like them, but I don’t like the sticky.
That taste aversion goes to certain cereals too. I can’t eat Raisin Bran. I can eat bran cereal, and I can eat raisins… but I can’t chew them together. The textures don’t feel right in my mouth.
