The Unknown – Dabbles #7

Why has it been so long?! Why haven’t I done a dabble since last year (or before??)?

Why do I even ask questions like this… as if I have no idea? Should I blame mental illness, or some other malady that I’m suffering from?

What even is a “Dabble”?!

Well according to Merriam-Webster…

Definition of dabble

intransitive verb

  1.  to work or involve oneself superficially or intermittently especially in a secondary activity or interest

// dabbles in art

  • (a) to paddle, splash, or play in or as if in water

(b) to reach with the bill to the bottom of shallow water in order to obtain food

transitive verb

  •  to wet by splashing or by little dips or strokes: SPATTER

In my case, I enjoy sharing tiny snapshots of what I enjoy doing (writing being the top of the list). Do I swing between Singing or Writing being my top favorite?

If so, I apologize. Maybe they should be right next to each other.

Betcha I forget all of this tomorrow!

I spent a goodly amount of time re-reading previous chapters of NtC last night and today… and I just wanted to roll all over the bed in happiness. I don’t focus too much on the reviews or the actual views, which still blow my mind to this day. Instead, I focus on the story and how happy it makes me.

It seems to at times write itself.

If only it wrote itself.

I also forgot until last night that my decades old car needed inspection today. And yes, I meant decades, as in more than one.

We both passed, thankfully – and I finally got my sunscreen after waiting nearly two weeks.

That said… what is on the horizon?

NtC is winding down… I think? I had 21 chapters planned, now it’s starting to look closer to 25.

After that, it’s time for me to return to OA.

I feel like kicking and screaming at the idea of returning to “Open Arms”.

It’s less pressure in terms of overall wordcount, but there’s the issue of keeping things as “canon” as I can.

Which drives me nuts.

However, the idea for the “big bad” has been penned out already. I need to just add more fine details around it.

I’m not sure if it’s one of the few instances where I’ll end the story on a cliffhanger. Not sure yet. If any of my readers see this part and start getting nervous – I apologize.

Kind of.

Then, there’s “The Craving”, that I’ve been kicking around ideas for. Which genre is that in? I spose you’ll have to tune in to find out.

Is there anything else?

Hmm… Nah. Tomorrow maybe.

Till Then!
